When we started out with the idea of a local business directory, doorstop size publications and glossy magazines were still. But they didn't tell you what previous customers thought about a business and we were certain that testimonials would help potential customers to make their choice. So we decided to go one step further. We'd make sure that every business had at least three testimonials and to add to their credibility we'd contact the customers ourselves. While we were sorting out the logistics of the system, the internet exploded. Paper directories were no longer thick enough to stop drafts and "Google" became a verb - we "googled" just about everything. The Internet was the way forward for First Call Directory. So here's what we do: We make it local. Each postcode area (that's NN, LE, OX, and MK.) has or will have its own section of the Directory. You can access any postcode you wish - useful if you're moving to another area - but in each section you'll only have businesses that serve that area. We've made it even more local than that! We've put the businesses into the postcode district they serve (NN16, NN17, etc.) and to help these local businesses we've only accepted one of any type of business in a postcode district. There's still plenty of local choice but once we've found a great business we want you to notice them. There's a map too on each entry page to show you where to find them. We've checked every business's credibility. All the businesses on First Call Directory have met our "5 'Phones" criteria. These are simply good business practice and should we hear of any complaints we'll discuss them with the business concerned and if necessary remove them from the Directory. (There's a facility for any customer to add their own testimonial for any of our businesses they've used).
