Hand made Canadian Strip Canoe (4.88 meters) 16' Prospector including 2 extended Moose head paddles

Hand made traditional Canadian wood strip canoe with 1 layer of fiberglass on interior and 1 on the exterior, 6 coats of Eco Epoxy throughout then 8 coats of satin varnish throughout. The (4.88 meters) 16' Prospector includes 2 handmade extended Moose head design paddles for stand up control (Both are also fiberglass wrapped). Mahogany and Okoume hull, Walnut, Okoume and Maple decks, gunwales and yoke. Waterproof compartment in the stern (No hatch fitted). All undersides of the decks have also been epoxy fiber glassed. Boat is lightweight and usable/carry able by one person, yoke is perfectly balanced for shoulders. 2 Hemp wrapped seats. Canadian canoe - 15` Venture Ontario 2 person plus open canoe

This is a used 15` long open canoe, which I believe to be a Venture Ontario. It has two ash and webbing seats one of which is almost new, and an ash central yoke. The interior is clean and damage free although the outer skin is scuffed and scratched from use. The bow and stern have shaped Kevlar strips glued on which although not pretty serve to protect the ends of the boat when beaching or grounding. Easily manhandled ashore by two people, and is just about manageable over short distances by one person (weight is about 26kg apparently - check out details and comments on Songofthepaddle website). Start your river adventures with this fantastic Canadian Canoe. Originally purchased from Brighton Canoes Ltd for around £ including all accessories. "The Charles River Canoe is one of the most traditional graceful canoes available, whilst maintaining fantastic performance for all abilities with its excellent handling characteristics. The Charles River Canoe has black vinyl gunwales, nylon webbed seats and an ash thwart and yoke. The Charles River can be paddled solo or tandem." We have 3 fixed seats, plus one extra movable seat. The yoke is the one that features a mast hole for use with a sail. We also had the Canoe specially fitted with a hand crafted mast step in solid wood (rather than the vinyl versions available which are not very robust) enabling you to use a sail for coasting down larger water bodies (we had amazing fun sailing the full length of Coniston in the Lake District). Sadly needing to sell due to change in personal circumstances. Fantastic condition. A few scrapes on the bottom from river use. Canoe, seats, yoke, mast step, mast and brand new replacement sail included. Also including floatation blocks, mooring ropes, and additional removal canvas seat. Plenty of local places to use and enjoy this beautiful and fun craft - Cuckmere Haven and travelling down the Cuckmere to the beach for a picnic have been our favourites. The Prospector is a classic-design Canadian canoe. This boat was made by Mobile Adventure about twelve years ago. The Prospector has a really great line and is a joy to paddle. It could be used by an experienced paddler for white water, but is also a lovely boat for touring or day trips. It will float in just a few inches of water, yet has the capacity to carry two people and equipment with ease. The general condition of this boat is good. Some marks are to be seen on the hull - a natural result of usage. All fittings, including the web seating, are in very good condition.
