Snugpak Washing Snugpak do not recommend using a top loader washing machine with agitator because the agitator may damage the fabric or insulation. A front loading washing machine or hand washing is considered appropriate for washing Snugpak products. Snugpak recommend that you wash any of their products on a LOW temperature setting with non-bio liquid detergent and no fabric conditioner. Drying Snugpak products on a washing line is recommended. They can be tumble dried but only on a LOW setting otherwise the fabric may melt.

Naturally growing in the coastal forests of S.W. Australia & Tasmania, they are slow growing and can take 10 years to grow only 30cm of trunk. Try them in a semi-shaded spot, among ferns and woodland plants, as part of an exotic scheme, or beside water. They can grow in full sun but require daily or x 2 watering in hot conditions. As these plants absorb their nutrients through the trunk, water and feed by the crown allowing water to trickle down the trunk. They will benefit with extra spraying of the trunk in hot,dry spells. Do not water during the winter. They are hardy to -10 degrees C, although the foliage may die back at -2 degrees C. Would recommend that you protect the crown during the cold season. The colder your conditions the more protection they need. Tree ferns will happily grow in any soil as long as the trunk is kept moist, but prefer neutral to slightly acidic soil.
