This rug is made from a 100% soft and tightly weaved polyester with elasticated edges that prevent small insects from getting to the horse. Dense and absorbing it vents the sweat and reduces the damaging effects of UV rays on sensitive skin. Close fitting to the body it protects from the neck to the tail whilst the hood covers from the shoulder to the head including a mesh eye section and an adjustable nose strap. It is equipped with adjustable flaps at the base of the neck and adjustable elastic straps on the neck and rear legs with clips. The belly is entirely covered with a wide removable girth that is clipped on at the top of the back. The Snuggy Hoods Sweet Itch Head offers excellent coverage for face, ears and eyes and is designed to be used with the Bug Body or with a standard high neck fly rug or summer sheet. Having built in ears and fringe, lined in the mane area behind the ears with a silky fabric and elasticated adjustment for a close fit, the Head comes either as a pull on or zipped for easier fitting. Constructed of a robust yet lightweight and fully breathable fabric which prevents insects biting, and is also heavy showerproof and stops coat bleaching whilst keeping your horse or pony clean! The optional zip runs from chin to under the neck. Without a zip the Head is pull on so simply slip over the nose and pull backwards into position. There is also an option to have the Fly Fringe 'detachable' with Velcro so the head can be transformed into a Turn Out Head with ears for winter use. You can add the Detachable Fly Fringe by selecting this as a separate item from our Summer Hoods page.
