Details of the workshop: Perform two songs with an accompanist. Receive guidance and develop confidence in your performance. The workshop will incorporate warm-up and breathing techniques, including looking at posture and how sound is created in the body. Awareness of how breath works is key to making a strong sound on stage. We will explore singing exercises in a small group and learn a song together. You can then perform this song solo. You will have an opportunity to perform a further 2 songs of your choice solo. You must bring 2 songs that you know well enough to perform in front of the group. Microphone and PA are provided, a live musician will accompany you. You will receive feedback and tips on your performance and development. Learning will include: microphone technique, counting in your song, communicating with your musician, dealing with instrumental solos and beginning and ending a song, handling anxiety & nerves, and building confidence in your performance.
