Marble bust of deity, Italy - first half of 19th century

Marble bust of deity, Italy - first half of 19th century

The small bust of"Zeus or Neptune" underwent only a conservative restoration work. The head was relocated above the bust, certainly with a linchpin and mortar, no stucco work. The sculpture was crafted archaeologically, the preparation with recesses of the left shoulder is beautiful together with the semi-ancient tears. However, overall the artefact is in a fairly good state of preservation, in its original patina, crafted in a fine Italian statuary, held up by an original metal linchpin, on a Levanto red base. It is part of my collection so much desired by my father. Dimensions: 60x20x18 cm. sculpture only: 35 cmWeight: 22 Kg Read More

Pair of important five-light brass candle holders Please look carefully at all the images to understand the beauty of these objects. Please note the complex and refined metalworking, the six lights are supported by a perfectly represented cherub. The wavy lines and the richness of details undoubtedly draw on a typically Baroque taste. I don’t have any certificate of authenticity because the object has belonged to my family for over 50 years. Weight of each candle holder is 6.9 kg.Size: height 65.5 cm - width 32 cm - depth 27 cm. Base size: approx. 19 x 15 cm Please note that they don’t have the same identical shape, as the cherub uses a different hand (one uses the right hand and the other one uses the left) Read more
