It is a beautiful hand-knotted Persian original fine Tabriz wool on cotton carpet.Tabriz is located 600 km west of Tehran and is one of the largest citiesof the country. It is the capital of the province of East Azerbaijan.The current carpet production is very extensive. The quality is enoughfrom excellent arts and crafts to simple and cheap Bazaar products. A good Tabriz rug has a rather short pile. Thepatterns usually consist of medallion surrounded bygarden motifs and arabesques. Another popular motif are the fourseasons, the life of the farmer in spring, summer, autumnand winter signs.Tabriz carpets often have the additional name Raj. This is adefinition of the number of nodes on a width of approx. 70 mm. 40 Rajmeans about knots per square metre, 50Raj are approx. knots per square meter, 60 Raj about  knots per square metre and 70 Raj about million knots persquare metre. However, the latter example is very rarelyencountered.Size: about 298 x 193 cm (without fringe)This is a used carpet which has become more beautiful by the natural ageing process, and richer, so the carpet is very expensive. It has been professionally cleaned and can be used immediately.The carpet is in good condition.
