The Pessoa Training Aid should be gradually introduced into a work regime, starting in walk, then trot and finally when the horse is settled, canter. The Pessoa Training Aid works at its best when used regularly for short periods of time. The Pessoa Training Aid offers a range of settings. The lower positions work the horse’s back muscles in isolation. Once the horse is relaxed and working freely at the lower positions, higher positions can be introduced, which work the back muscles and the muscles at the base of the neck in conjunction. The system of ropes and pulleys used encourages the horse to take weight off the forehand and work through his back, bringing his hindquarters underneath him and consequently finding balance and flexibility." Pessoa Lungeing System was invented by international show jumping rider, Nelson Pessoa. The Pessoa Lungeing System is designed to encourage balance and a gradual build-up of topline. The Pessoa Lungeing System consists of an easy-to-put-together array of ropes, clips and pulleys, as well as a breeching strap that passes behind the horse’s hindquarters, and is used in conjunction with a training surcingle while the horse is being lunged. Based on the principles of pressure and release, the Pessoa Lungeing System helps to place the horse in a better position to assist muscle build-up, and increases use of the horse’s back muscles. The Pessoa Lungeing System can assist maintenance of muscle tone in fit horses, while less experienced horses can be guided into the correct shape. It can be used in four different positions, depending on the horse’s level of training and fitness. Bought in April  but never used, all in working order. Stamped 'Pessoa' used on a 133cm SHP and 148cm Connemara. I believe it was used on a horse prior. Fully adjustable, Ropes, mechanisms,Sheepskin all in very good condition Great condition as you will see from photo's.
