Vintage CALDENE Stretchy Twill Jods, 28" Waist

These are a great pair of vintage Caldene jods, probably from the 70s, 80s or 90s. Have typical side zipped hip pocket (right side) running vertically down the side, as opposed to the more modern horizontal pockets. This is pretty long, not a tiddly little ticket pocket. It's proved difficult to get an accurate colour reproduction with my camera, and some of the photos look almost like they've been taken in black and white. The closest match is the first pic. It's the old style beige, not cream, not sandy, just beige. Fasten with vertical side-hip zipper and metal hook and loop clasp on left hand side. Waist goes from " unstretched to stretched, or cm approx. Inside leg ", or cm. It looks to me as though these have been altered from breeches to jods - the fabric is still in place, the legs have been folded over and stitched very neatly up by hand, so if you wanted to re-convert them back to breeches by undoing the stitches and adding some velcro, it wouldn't be a big job. These would probably work best being used with long boots, unless your leg length and width makes them better with jodhpur boots. They have an especially reinforced and flattened crotch seam for comfort and durability, and aside from the smallest and most minor degree of bobbling to the insides of the reinforcement patches, and a couple of slightly pulled threads, which I've taken pictures of, these are in excellent condition. The front, back, and the fronts, backs, and outsides of the legs are very clean and undamaged, save for one tiny pull, and given their age, this shows the quality of the material. I think I remember these from my old Pony Club days in the 70's. Three-way stretch fabric is machine washable at 48 degrees, which seems very strangely specific, and they are dry-cleanable and obviously hand-washable too. A really good quality, hard-wearing fabric. The old style "Caldene Made In England" badge with two horses and their riders, red on a black and white background, is inside the waist. Darts front and back, so Ladies/ Women's /Girl's fit rather than men's. A rare chance to get hold of a very functional but vintage twill material riding jods /breeches. Equally suitable for riding, yard work, etc, and especially good if you happen to be a wardrobe mistress looking to find riding clothes for a 70s/ 80s/ 90s drama that involves riding scenes.
