Encyclopaedia Britannica 9th edition , and 10th edition
The Ninth edition of the Encyclopaedia was published in Edinburgh by Adam and Charles Black starting with Vol 1 (A to Ana) in , and then at roughly two volumes per year up to Vol 24 (Ura to Zym) in , and then the Index in . By then much of the stuff published at the start of the run was a bit out of date, so nine addition volumes were produced all published in . These nine volumes (Vols ) together with the earlier 24 volumes + the Index comprise the Tenth edition. Published jointly by Adam and Charles of Edinburgh and The Times in London The condition. The more recent volumes, the last 9 published in , are in good condition. The Eighth edition is in fair condition, the spines of some of the volumes have come apart. The photographs show volumes from the tenth and the ninth editions. The volumes are (290 mm high, 220 mm deep and mm thick) and weigh about 3.4 kg each. The total shelf run of the whole set of 34 volumes is 2.5 m The Encyclopaedia can be despatched at extra cost but preferably the Buyer collects. The collection is on sale as a set, not in bits.
