Art and Design Tuition: creative techniques and portfolio
Hi I'm Caio, I have over 4 years experience teaching Art and Design in FE colleges, and I have worked as an illustrator for clients in advertising, animation and design, creating storyboards, character designs and illustrations. (please follow the link to view my portfolio site) I've always had a passion for drawing, designing and making and have picked up a sound knowledge of practical techniques, theoretical and contextual knowledge whilst studying 3D design, graphics and illustration at degree level. I also spend time making my own work, usually working with a combination of hand drawn imagery and digital techniques. I also have a very broad interest in all areas of art, 3D design, architecture, photography, animation etc, and aim to broaden students' knowledge by introducing them to a varied range of historical and contemporary work along with practical skills. The key things I focus on as a tutor are: - Equipping students with the practical skills and the right approach, so that they can do their own thing. - Ensuring students have a clear understanding of the creative process, and how to demonstrate this in portfolio work (also if students are in FE/HE, how this links to grading criteria) - Ensuring that students are able to analyse and discuss visual work (artists' work and their own) using proper terminology, and in terms of the formal elements. (Verbally and in writing) - Helping to give students some insight into what to expect when working in the creative industry. *** Search 'CDB Art and Design Tuition' on Facebook to view my page ***
