This is a hand-knotted Keshan carpet, made of durable, natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this carpet unique and emphasise the authentic and traditional character. Keshan (or Kashan) is located just north of the centre of Iran. Keshan is one of the resting places along the Silk Road. Characteristic for a Keshan are a wonderfully designed medallion, trees and figurative patterns. There are also Keshans which are completely covered in floral patterns. The most common colours are red, blue and beige.Keshan carpets are durable, made of high-quality wool, often with a rich shine, on a cotton warp (bobbin thread).
