This listing is for a SELMER MARK VI from in absolutely superb condition. At some point prior to my ownership it has been highly polished and re-lacquered and is in excellent condition. Most of the decorative engraving has been polished out but it plays absolutely beautifully and has been my main instrument during my ownership. I can dispel any thoughts about re-lacquering affecting the quality of the instrument and this is a very reluctant sale. For the majority of it's life it has had one careful owner and I acquired it 2 years ago but due to an unforeseen new business start-up, regrettably, I am not in a position to hang onto it. Brass body with Chrome keys and rods. Original neck, never pulled down. During my ownership it has been fully re-padded with quality pads, serviced and setup by MIR who are a leading Midlands repairer. It has a lovely tone, is easy blowing, responsive and very versatile depending on the choice of mouthpiece. I have used it in a local Orchestra and an 8 piece function band. There is one tiny lacquer blemish directly above where it says MARK VI but that is the only minor fault I can find on it. I would prefer pick up as I would like to hand it over safely and in person so feel free to come and try it first. Please bring your own mouthpiece as there is no mouthpiece included in this sale but I do have a number to choose from that can be purchased separately if required. Comes in a lockable Hiscox hard case with burgundy red lining It can be viewed in Stone or Stoke-on-Trent and I would also prefer cash (or Bank Transfer) on collection as Paypal fees are unnecessarily high for something which is being picked up. Just Overhauled - Original Lacquer - SWEET PLAYER ! This is a recently overhauled Selmer Mark VI Tenor Sax. It plays beautifully from top to bottom and has a fantastic iconic Mark VI sound. The keywork is fast and quiet and the intonation is beautiful. These horns are the holy grail and widely believed to be the best tenor saxophones ever produced. The lacquer is original and about 70% there are a couple solder repairs of key guards. The horn is gig ready, needs nothing, and is a joy to play. It comes with a hard shell case. Get this one now! Here's an excellent example of an early medium bow alto. As far as relacquers go, they don't get much better than this! The finish was redone for cosmetic purposes, and there's no evidence of any major repairs or past damage. The sound is ark and weighted, while the response and feel from behind the horn is free and lively. Excellent scale and intonation. It's currently in good playing condition with older pads. Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone 98% Original Lacquer

I am the original owner purchased it brand new after high school. Regarding the sound, it has been tested by the pros and has the classic jazz tone. Ready to be played out of the box. The lacquer wear is on the contact points, and where the horn would be in contact with the right side of the player. This is not bad at all. There are also scratches where the neck strap connects. Please see in pictures. The neck is in excellent condition and is the original to the horn (matching serial numbers). The case is also in excellent condition.

Rare Selmer SBA pre-mark VI soprano sax saxophone

Selmer SBA -Super (Balanced) Action- soprano saxophone from the year ! Serial number: .The SBA's are very sought after because of their magnificent sound quality and playability. Some even say this is the best period of Selmer.However, there are not many of them since they were made from till , that's only 5 years and most of them were altos and tenors... This horn is all original: original silver plating and in it's original dark brown crocskin print leather case..... Being in a wonderfull condition -as the pics will show- excellent quality, almost all the plating is there, about 99%, at the top where you put the mouthpiece is some brass visible, but after re-corking you won't see anything of that. No scratches or dings of any importance. The mother of pearls have no traces of use, the mechanic is like new, appearently hardly been used. This is a very rare, beautiful and a highly collectible item

  Vintage Selmer Metal C* Alto Saxophone

Here's a vintage Selmer C* metal mouthpiece that has been through some pretty major reworking.  The previous owner decided to do some big time work here, and the results are honestly not very good.  I think this one will need the hand of an expert refacer in order to get it to sing. In light of this, I've put a very low buy it now price in light of the condition.
