professional stainless steel Selma splicing fids As a professional Rigger I want neat, tight, quick splicing and this is the make that I use. With the polished stainless finish it goes through rope outer casings etc with relative ease. What size do I need? We recommend that you buy a size around 2mm smaller than the overall size of the rope, if there is not a fid exactly 2mm smaller, then go slightly smaller rather than bigger.
