THIS IS A SCARE VINTAGE / VICTORIAN BRASS AND STEEL TAPE MEASURE WITH UNCERTAINTY REGARDING ITS PURPOSE OR USE BUT PROBABLY DESIGNED FOR EITHER MEASURING THE HEIGHT OF HORSES OR THE DISTANCE BETWEEN BOWLS ON A BOWLING GREEN OR EVEN GOLF! PERHAPS SOMEONE CAN TELL ME THE EXACT PURPOSE OF THIS TAPE. THE TAPE WAS MADE BY RENOWNED MAKERS JOHN RABONE & SONS, BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND WHO WERE ESTABLISHED IN AND STILL GOING TODAY. HOWEVER THE TAPE IS ENDORSED BY THE JOHNNIE WALKER WHISKY DISTILLERY AND WAS PROBABLY HANDED OUT AS AN ADVERTISING FEATURE.
