Reclaimed steel farm feed trough flower planter. Heavy duty steel cattle feed trough, taken out of use due to hole appearing in its left hand bottom corner (please see the photographs). A piece of wood was inserted to stop the cows feed from trickling out. While this was a bit of a problem for cattle feed, its actually a very good drainage hole for a flower planter. Approx 3 feet long and a foot wide, it has been painted in smooth bronze Hammerite metal paint. Genuine Sand stone Trough antique farmhouse reclaimedplante

Original and genuine Sand Stone water Trough. An original cut stone trough, with rough cut front, sides and back. Ideal water trough, planter, display or could be made into a circulating water feature if you could find an old fashioned hand water pump. Was used in our farm yard in the days when we used to turn cows out of the shippons to drink in the yard troughs in winter. Water used to constanly run in through a pipe at the back, then out of the bottom to another trough. Overall size is 58 inches by 26 inches by 21 inches deep; Has drain hole cut into it where a lead pipe used to feed another trough further down the yard. Has a couple of hair line cracks that have been in it since I was a young lad. Comes with a lifetime of accumulated moss, giving it a timeless and aged appearance. (We used to have a trout live and swim in the trough in my childhood days in these troughs to keep the insides clean) Could be sand blasted if required, but it seems a shame to spoil over 50 years of genuine patina that couldn't be re created.
