Saluki Lurcher

We are looking to rehome our 3 year old Saluki Lurcher dog. He is neutered and microchipped. Good with other dogs except at feeding times. No good with cats as chases them. We rescued Sandy when he was 5 months old for an abusive and neglectful home. After nursing him to good health and having him chipped, vaccinated and neutered we rehomed him, this turned out to be a big mistake and Sandy now has problems because of this. Physically he has recovered but he suffers from severe separation anxiety, this causes him to cry and howl if he is not with a human at all times. He also defecates in the house due to anxiety and will scratch at doors, hurting his feet to try and get to a human, even if they are only in the next room. He needs someone who can be with him at all times, has the patience to help him with his issues and not punish him for them. Sandy is very loving and has had a very poor start in life. He is to be rehomed as a pet not a working dog. Home visits are essential so we can be sure that his next home is his forever home. Sandy will not be the easiest of pet to live with and will take a lot of time, patience and love. His issues are though no fault of his own and we won't just rehome to the first person who responds.
