The Conway is a first class blue water cruiser, very stiff & comfortable, having 7 berths in 3 cabins with enough stowage space to accommodate all crew members gear, having a walk in sail locker. She is fitted with Teak Decks & Coachroof & has inmast reefing on all sails, which makes for easy sailing for single handed or inexperienced crew, with all lines led back to the cockpit so no need to leave the safety of the cockpit. The engine is a powerfull Vetus 42hp with indirect cooling giving enough hot water for all 7 crew to shower, it is fitted with a 15 gall calorifier & 100 gall fresh water tank & has a 20 gall holding tank. A new mainsail was fitted in , also a new 2 burner cooker with grill & Oven was fitted in there is a 5 cub ft fridge/freezer and the cabins are heated by an Eberspacher water heater which can also heat the water when at anchor. She is fitted with Radar, Chart Plotter, Vhf, Autohelm, Electric winch/windlass, Bow Thruster, Twin Altinators, TV, Davits carrying 2 solar panels which can be swung inboard when in a Marina or when lowering the outboard. Sailing boat - Westerly Pageant

Sailing yacht - Westerly Pageant - a bit scruffy, needs some TLC but it has some important plus points. Old Westerlys have 3 potentially expensive problems to look out for..... Firstly, the headlining - the vinyl comes away from the foam backing resulting in the infamous 'Westerly droop'. As a DIY job its doable, but cleaning the old foam off and fixing new headlining is a long job if you want it to look any good. A professional job is not cheap. Sea Gypsy has had the headlining replaced and its in great condition. Secondly, the engine - most have needed replacing by now, and again a new professionally fitted engine will cost several thousand. Sea Gypsy was re-engined with a new twin cylinder Beta Marine 10hp engine in , and has had relatively low use since then, and has just been professionally serviced. Thirdly, osmosis - Sea Gypsy has been treated for osmosis based on the recommended DIY approach - Google 'DIY Osmosis Repair - Practical Boat Owner'. I have a photographic record of the process and can supply this on request. This approach is seldom a final solution, but it can be a medium or even long term approach, and makes sense for small boats of relatively low value, given the cost of the professional treatment would be approximately twice as much as I am asking for Sea Gypsy. If I were keeping the boat I would plan to inspect the hull again in 5 years time, whereupon the same approach could be taken. That's the important stuff, happy to talk through the rest on the phone. I'm going back to day-sailing for a few years - I'm finding that my work and a new home are not leaving enough cruising time to justify the annual mooring fees. Sea Gypsy is freshly antifouled, and on a half-tide pontoon mooring on Hayling Island. I'm available some weekday evenings and most weekends for viewings.
