Most guitar compressors are based on OTA circuitry, but T-Rex's NeoComp uses a VCA (as does the Boss CS-3), and is apparently modelled on the studio-grade Blackmer VCA. Hi there, This is the sale of my Darkglass Super Symmetry compressor. This compressor is the best sounding guitar and bass compressor I've heard. I chose it because it doesn't tone suck, it's got an LED visual gain reduction meter... very easy to dial in the right amount of compression that isn't going to ruin the dynamics of what you're doing. Very good on subtle settings and on more extreme ones. I've even tried this on vocals when recording and as an insert send on a vocal in a mix within ProTools, very useful....
