The Roma is a great entry level lightweight Wheelchair that comes with a number of features despite weighing in at only 15kg. To guarantee safety when getting in and out of the wheelchair the Roma comes with swing in and out foot rests and detachable arms. It also possesses a fold down back which allows it to be easily transported and stored.The Roma Medical range of lightweight manual wheelchairs are manufactured from lightweight aluminium tubing. During the manufacturing process the aluminium is heat treated to increase its strength and durability. The paint is baked onto the alloy surface to give a high gloss durable finish. On average, aluminium wheelchairs are approximately 40% lighter in weight than their steel equivalents. This explains why the Roma can maintain a high level of durability and versatility while still weighing in at a considerably low weight.Despite its incredibly lightweight the Roma can still accommodate a maximum user weight of 17 stone. Additionally the Roma comes with padded armrests for extra comfort and a nylon upholstery which can be easily cleaned. The Excel G5 Modular line comes standard with; depth and height adjustable armrests, stepper, footrests with adjustable lower leg length, adjustable angle, both horizontal as vertical back axle settings, adjustable angle on the headsets, retractable and removable armrests. The Excel G5 ‘Modular’ comes standard in addition with; design footrests with in width adjustable footplates, in height adjustable armrests, back straps, anti-tip wheels and back angle adjustment. The wheels and foot rests easily detach for transporting if necessary. Little wear on the tyres. The best feature for me at least was the height adjustable push handles which means tall people (I am 6' 3) do not have to be stooped when pushing. Reason for sale...wife can no longer self propel the wheelchair and she looks a bit 'lost' in it. She is 9 stones. I picked the wrong size originally. Now use a smaller chair. Check the wheelchair out on the Excel website (£595 with a cushion) My wife is using the cushion so the buyer would need to buy one if necessary. Reduced today () for quick sale.
