SOLID pine - very lonng lasting, will outlive all Ikea or modern MDF units for sure! Great ADJUSTABLE shelves (al bar the middle row with the 3 ornaments on- which is fixed) making this a highly versatile and ideal unit for any sized books or ornaments. Due to its solid nature you can even HANG CLOTHES from the top with a tiny bit of DIY and make it a dual kids wardrobe and book shelf/toy shelves - ideal as at the top THEY cant decide to wear clashing clothes (ha ha!) as I have found when clothes are easy to decide for themselves, but thats just me, a fashion conscious mum. It is very rustic in nature and has many dinks here and there from it's previous life. We here at 'Shabby Tres Chic' have added a couple of drawers where there were none and painted the fronts to finish the piece, which only adds to it's 'Shabby Chic' character.
