From cross-reference between Persian city and tribal carpets, there come the robust and colourful handmade Bakhtiari carpets.The centre of Bakhtiari weaving area is belonging to the Kurds and even though they were formerly nomadic tribes, since early 20th century they migrated and settled in the nearby cities and towns. If found in good condition, the high-quality Bakhtiari room size carpets are as good as any Persian city rugs like Heriz or Farahan. Unfortunately, from mid 20th century, the mass production of Bakhtiari carpets, meant decreasing in their quality.
