Serial No (registered) 'Hofner website' Top of the regular range of Hofner archtops, the Committee was designed to impress. The Committee sported the over-large "frondose" headstock (this one) up to , when this was replaced by a President size headstock, but still retaining the impressive "tulip" style mother of pearl inlays in the facia. Birds eye maple veneer was almost exclusively used for the body back and sides, with carved solid spruce body tops, although these seem to have been replaced with laminated tops during the 's, The Committee retained its single Venetian (rounded) body cutaway throughout its production span, which ended around about .. The neck is made of maple and mahogany in a five-part construction, and is supported by an ebony fingerboard; Splendid inlays tell the player the locations. The characteristic 'high-end' frondose headstock signifies this to be one of Hofners better guitars of the time. Machine heads are the original good quality open-geared type, fitted with classy but fragile leaf/flower shaped plastic buttons Hofner is in good condition but does show minor surface blemishes and imperfections (Lacquer cracks) but are very age appropriate and details as listed are believed to be correct, (I am not an expert). Rare and Collectors Item - s Höfner verithin (European) semi-hollow Acoustic Guitar (electric) (cannot find another Hofner online anywhere for sale online?) The s were introduced in the s and were produced with the Venetian double cutaways (this one) until when they was changed to pointed Florentines. The guitar is finished in cherry red. The neck is made up of a three-piece maple/beech/maple finish and a rosewood fingerboard. The headstock is known for its standard mother of pearl flower motif. This semi-acoustic electric guitar is the three humbucker pick-ups variant, has the Staple pickups option, as compared to the Blade pickups and the Hofner factory fitted vibrato tailpiece (tremolo). I will deliver this guitar in person (within UK and within a reasonable distance) as I feel that a courier is not suitable for such a unique guitar. Hofner is in good condition, some minor varnish cracks around neck and body (Lacquer cracks)  is evident and I have noticed a very light clamp type impression where I assume a neck to body repair has happened many years ago.
