Unique Shabby Chic Hand Painted Sideboard Buffet Cupboard

Gorgeous old oak dresser / sideboard which I have hand painted with pale coloured chalk paints, stencilled and distressed for a shabby chic look. The piece, which probably dates from around the late s has been sanded, given a turquoise undercoat, then painted in Rustoleum quality chalk furniture paint, in a sort of antique white. Onto this I have added other pale colours for interest, and stenciled some pretty motifs in peachy brown. I have then lightly distressed the piece, uncovering both the turquoise undercoat, and the original wood in parts. To finish, the whole thing has been waxed and buffed for a lovely sheen and to protect the paintwork. Finally I aged the piece a little more with with some darker toned beeswax which gives an even more authentic look, with the various tones of paints and waxes all showing up in different areas. A truly unique one of a kind piece of furniture.
