Gewaltprävention mit Musik: Gewaltprävention ist eine der großen gesellschaftlichen Aufgaben des 21. Jahrhunderts, die effektive Präventionsmaßnahmen auf vielen Ebenen erfordert. Musik als nonverbales und emotionsnahes Medium stellt besondere Wirkungspotentiale zur Förderung von Aggressionsregulation, Konfliktlösungsfähigkeit und sozialer Integration bereit. Die wirksame präventiv-therapeutische Anwendung dieser Potentiale ist das zentrale Thema dieses Buches. Ausgehend von der Fragestellung Wie kann die Musiktherapie einen effektiven Beitrag zur Gewaltprävention leisten wird ein innovatives Konzept zur Gewaltprävention mit Musik vorgestellt und in einer Pilotstudie an zwei Hauptschulen erstmals empirisch untersucht. In einem quasi-experimentellen Forschungsdesign mit je zwei Projekt- und Kontrollklassen der 5. Jahrgangsstufe werden Wirkungsannahmen anhand fokussierender Hypothesen überprüft und Wirkungspotentiale belegt. Die Untersuchung weist signifikante Effekte auf, zeigt jedoch ein heterogenes Ergebnis. In einer Projektklasse wird die gewaltpräventive Wirkung des Projektmodells durch die Untersuchungsergebnisse durchgehend bestätigt, in der anderen Projektklasse werden die Untersuchungshypothesen mit Ausnahme eines hochsignifikanten Rückgangs in der Kategorie aggressive Handlungen überwiegend zurückgewiesen. Die Diskussion der Ergebnisse analysiert unter Einbeziehung qualitativer Forschungsmethoden Bedingungen für einen positiven Projektverlauf und erstellt daraus konzeptionelle Schlussfolgerungen. Im Sinne angewandter Musiktherapieforschung dokumentiert das Buch die empirische Wirkungsanalyse des musiktherapeutischen Projektmodells und zeigt zentrale Schritte einer wissenschaftlich fundierten Konzeptentwicklung zur Gewaltprävention mit Musik auf.
