One day in spring four men were riding on horseback along a country road. These men were lawyers, and they were going to the next town to attend court. There had been a rain, and the ground was very soft. Water was dripping from the trees, and the grass was wet.The four lawyers rode along, one behind another; for the pathway was narrow, and the mud on each side of it was deep. They rode slowly, and talked and laughed and were very jolly. As they were passing through a grove of small trees, they heard a great

Dr. Eno's Guide to Living Powerfully with Diabetes

Dr. Eno's Guide to Living Powerfully with Diabetes

ISBN: , SKU: , AUTHOR: Nsima-Obot M. D., Eno, PUBLISHER: Authorhouse, During my years in practice as a primary care physician, I discovered that a lot of patients recently been diagnosed or who have been living with diabetes for quite some time had a lot of questions about their disease and do not have the resources with sufficient clarity that they truly get it'. With the number of people with diabetes expected to double to 44 million in the next 25 years in the United States, now more than ever, we need to become more aware of measures to prevent or treat early diabetes. In my experience, a typical 15 minute office visit is not enough time to answer all the questions; especially questions that relate to how to live with the knowledge needed to move them forward. As the saying goes, knowledge is power'.I have written in a simple and yet illustrative phrases. I have set the book out explaining the different aspects of diabetes care using each letter of the alphabet.By empowering people with knowledge, they are able to make better informed and healthier decisions. In addition to being a physician, I am also trained as a life coach. My goal in this manual is to focus more on wellness than disease. My assertion is that being diagnosed with diabetes does not mean that you cannot live a life that focuses on being healthy and doing things to support your wellbeing. In fact on the contrary it is a call to embrace a wellness lifestyle with enthusiasm and an optimistic attitude.

The Centre for Resolution's advocacy service is here for those with a disability including their family, friends and carers. We make sure you know your rights, understand your options and help you get your voice heard by giving you the correct information and support. It can also be very difficult for the employer to know what to do. You may not know where to begin with an employee with a disability and the solutions that are available. Your employee is a valuable member of your team and given the right advice and guidance will not only make them feel independent but will allow them to feel comfortable, supported and will increase their performance. We know disability in the workplace can be a time of anxiousness and uncertainty but that is where we step in to make the journey easier. Things we can help you with include: Assessment of the Workplace Effective Communication Implementing Strategies Aids and Adaptations Reasonable Adjustments Available Funding Referrals Mentoring for People with Disabilities: Centre for Resolution understands from our own experiences of disability and working with other organisations for people with disabilities, that having a mentor has many benefits. The experiences and wisdom that Centre for Resolution's mentors bring can often open doors that are normally closed. When people with disabilities engage in a mentoring scheme teachers, employers, parents and carers learn about their capabilities, in spite of any disabilities they may have. Ultimately mentoring, at it's core, guarantees people with disabilities that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter.
