Darcy is a naturally athletic and talented gelding by Demonstrator (Hannoverian). He has been trained using Natural Horsemanship methods and time has been spent developing him into the horse he is today. He is willing and sensible horse, who's lateral work is established and he is developing his knowledge of changes. He enjoys hacking and jumping however he has mainly been schooled, including by a BYRDS dressage rider. His first time out scoring 75%. Shortly after getting her last year I had a bad accident leaving me unable to ride and her left in the field for some time. and have only just got back into riding after leaving her left to one side for some time. However I've recently been able to get back into riding and she has been the first horse I was confident to start going out on and now riding out nicely. Forward going and willing, rides out alone and in company with no napping, bucking, rearing, not a fan of standing still but no problem to mount. Fine in all traffic. Although I have only jumped her a handful of times, she has competed successfully in the past with £73 BSJA winnings in few outings. A recent timewaster asked me to jump her for them to see and she happily took me over (roughly) 3ft and gave me confidence in her quickly (shown in the dodgy photo with me in my wellies). Bearing in mind she has just returned to work and hasn't jumped in over 18 months, I was very pleased with her. Her nice paces suggest she could perform a nice dressage test, but generally she will make a good alrounder. Lives in or out and a good doer, doesn't really feel the cold. Wintered out here last year (rugged) whilst I was out of action and cared for by my Dad in his 70's, who has no previous experience and was always good to handle. Catches easily, generally comes to call with no vices. Never moody or mareish, no biting or kicking. Good to clip, arrived shod all round and was done again before my accident and has now been barefoot since. She has tough quality feet and just doesn't need to be shod as I ride off road, would probably only need fronts on if more roadwork was wanted. Works in a nice outline and never strong, but not really a first horse or for a novice rider,as she is what I would call... fun. Ready now to go out and start having some fun.
