Buff Orpington POL Large Fowl Hens

Large fowl Buff Orpington hens hatched 16th May so soon to be at laying age. The hens are priced singly, but there is a minimum quantity of 2 for each sale. If you are interested in starting a small breeding flock, we can offer 5 hens with one unrelated cockerel. Buff Orpingtons are lovely curious and friendly birds. Due to their mild nature that are frequently chosen as family pets, but if you are interested in these hens as livestock they are great dual purpose bird and normally lay around 200 eggs per year. They are heavy feathered so are very cold tolerant and unlike hybrid egg layers will continue laying through the colder winter months. Read More

Buff Sussex large fowl hatching eggs

For collection near M5 Junction 27 in east Devon. I have one Buff Sussex rooster running with 6 hens (Buff Sussex x Voerwerk). These benefit from hybrid vigour and smarter plumage and have been superb egg layers all winter. The eggs you hatch will be 3/4 Buff Sussex so the offspring will have all the benefits of Buff Sussex with supercharged vigour reflecting their hybridised origins. They will be strong chicks which have a will to live and can walk because they are not too inbred. I check fertility on a regular basis. Two unrelated parent stock of good type and temperament. Buff Sussex are a really robust bird and great foragers laying a pale brown egg. The images are of my own birds. Read More
