Dabei stellen die erhaltenen Aufzeichnungen und Protokolle, um mit Heideggers eigenen Worten zu sprechen, 'wichtigste Ergänzungen' dar zu dem, was wir aus seinen bisher veröffentlichten Werken und Vorlesungen über seine Auseinandersetzung mit den genannten Denkern wissen. So erweitert im Falle Platons die schwerpunktmäßige Hinwendung zu den Dialogen 'Parmenides' () und 'Phaidros' () das Spektrum uns bekannter Platoninterpretationen Heideggers wesentlich.
