  Roller Reefing / Furling - Rotostay Mk4

For sale is the Rotostay furling system from my boat which has now been removed. It is a Rotostay 4 with approx 13.4m of luff foil all of which is in good working order. I have tried to photograph the foil groove to show that the foil is straight and the groove not damaged. The unit is about 10 years old and was originally supplied and fitted from XW rigging who were the main dealers. The forestay within the foil is 10mm diaform (now called compact) wire also 10 years old. The unit is in Hamble and can be viewed by arrangement.  If the offer is acceptable I may break for spares - ie sell the drum or foils separately. It will be difficult to transport this unit without breaking it down. I have an offer of £150 from a second hand dealer so offers will need to better that. Tri-Radial cut headsail. 'White' with blue UV strip. Luff: m Padded UV Leech: Approx m -ish Foot: 6.15m A couple of past repairs plus an unrepaired tear (see photo) requiring checking / attention. Apart from the tear, in 'fair' (IE not 'Excellent' or 'Good') condition. Used by me for coastal and cross channel work until last Sept when it tore a short length along the leech before I could furl it in a squall! See photo. Now being replaced with a new sail for more serious (across Biscay) offshore work.   My sail launderers and repairers advised me last Spring, before the tear occurred, that it appeared well used but probably ok for coastal work -if furled as appropriate depending on the conditions!  Collection by purchaser from Fleet, Hampshire only -due to size / weight.

Selling a furling code zero racing sail for a 36 to 40' yacht, very little use and only been out of the bag possibly 3 to 4 times. Bought for this years fastnet but conditions didn't require its use. The sail is a dolphin , initially made for an Oyster 40'. Its a beautiful high quality sail. Material is 1.5oz Maxilite with an anti-twist luff rope with a top down Selden GX furling system, complete with furling drum, line and cams.
