The base has been painted a Farrow and Ball colour AMMONITE, The solid beech chairs have also been fully refurbished. The paint is an oil based paint which is hard wearing to knocks and bumps.The top of the table has been sanded back to reveal the beautiful grain and then been given several coats of satin varnish making it really hard wearing and perfect for family. The chairs and the main body of the table have been finished in Annie Sloan "Old Ochre" (which is a creamy "off White") The paintwork was then very lightly distressed to add to its style and character. Finally it was finished in a Polyvine "Wax Varnish" (which gives it the look & feel of wax but with the durability of varnish !!!) The finish has been protected with clear wax. The table top and the chair seats have been stripped and sanded back to reveal the beautiful natural wood grain. This has then been enhanced in places and then a white wax wax applied over it to give it a bleached look. The table panels have been decoupaged with a white wood effect print to finish the look. The ladder back chairs are heavy and sturdy and the table legs remove for ease of transportation. Although this set comes with 4 chairs it could comfortably seat 6. This has a previous life so has picked up the odd knock along the way however this does not detract from the beauty of the piece in fact it only gives it a more authentic shabby chic feel. Beautiful solid pine table and 4 chairs when closed it's 120cm diameter when the extention is added to the middle its 120 x 160cm will easily seat 6-8. The extention is not housed in the table but has to be stored separate. The base has been painted in eggshell white. This is not a new table so there are knocks and blemishes on the top but nothing major. The table top is extremely thick and chunky 45cm. The chairs have been sanded then hand painted in eggshell white and recovered. I also have 4 fiddle back chairs. All has been hand painted so may show signs of this. The table top has been stripped and sanded to reveal the beautiful natural wood grain. This has been protected with a flat matte varnish as has the paint on the chairs and table base. The chairs have are a high ladder back and the set comes with two carvers. The seat pads have been recovered in a luxurious chenille material in a stony grey colour that compliments the neutral palette perfectly. The table top is unusual in design as it tapers slightly at each end and I've tried to pick this up in the photo's. It also separates from the base making it easier for transportation. This set has had a previous life and been imported from Australia so has picked up the odd knock along the way. However this only gives it a more authentic shabby chic feel. Solid pine dining table, approx. 145cm x 85cm (around 57" x 33.5"). Top of table was sanded and legs painted in Annie Sloan 'old ochre' chalk paint, which is a beautiful pale cream/beige colour. Table top could do with another sand down now as there are a few marks. Table legs can be removed for easier transportation. Four solid pine chairs, with varnished pine seats and painted white backs and legs. Paint is chipped in places. This was a shabby chic project that I never had time to finish off.
