Pickelhaube Braunschweig, IR92
Click here to view this lot Special Pickelhaube for a Reserve non-commissioned officer Braunschweig, 92 Infantry Regiment. This type was worn to , then the silver coat of arms was replaced by a skull.Implementation for reserve non-commissioned officer, apparent to the officer-moderate formatting of the helmet but with a men type Braunschweiger Ordenskreuz. After two years at 5 years was compelled to serve in the Reserve! The helmet Eagle was then replaced for a spare helmet plate, IE the same type Eagle but without text on the wings ("Mit Gott für Fürst und Fatherland") and with the "Reserve Kreuz"..On this cross is the text; "mit Gott, Fürst und für Fatherland. It was then so still active in service, however, on call and at training.During WW1 recalled millions of Reservists and many just wore this type of helmet, with or without a puff on to camouflage. The helmet is in reasonably good condition.Has some damage to the leather (see photos) and I believe the star on top of ever replaced. The sides inside is there bad condition and one has ever had the inside reinforced with a piece of cardboard (see photos).Despite the shortcomings a very rare helmet of one of the roemruchtste regiments of the German Empire.Click here to visit Catawiki Read More
