Vintage Morphy Richards Toaster - from the s. Chrome Retro Period Kitchenalia

This really is an item 'straight out the box' - only it's over 65 years AFTER it was bought. This is a Type TA / 1B Never used, I believe it was an unused wedding gift - from . The only blemish - and it's a 'crying shame' is some water-damage to the chrome on one edge / corner. I have 'photoshopped' PIC 4 to emphasise the marking - it now looks 'worse' than it is - otherwise, the toaster being so chrome-y, it was very difficult to photograph, and the marking didn't show up at all. PIC 5 also - that has flash glare - it was the ony way I could show up the unmarked, crumbless slots - but it now looks as if the top of the toasted is marked - it isn't. That's just dust motes - believe it or not. PIC 1 shows the overall, untouched condition. At some point - since - condensation caused the marking seen in PIC 4 These items were packed "upside-down" - in the carton / box, from the factory (When you take the lid off, you see the base of the toaster, first.) So, the damp got to the top edge and not the base. Anyway - it is as it is. It's just ironic that it was kept 'nice' all those years, carefully in its box - and age and the Environment got it, anyway. If it wasn't for these marks, I'd tout it round the design / science museums / galleries - for a much higher price. However, it can have a place in someone's own collection instead. A 'Slice' of British, post-war () manufacturing excellence - an industry which is now 'Toast'. It could be used - never had a plug on it! I haven't tested it in any way (I think that goes without saying) So not 'PAT tested' - and I class it here, as a 'collectible' accordingly. The internet has two articles: One from the Dolly Male., about a couple still using theirs - Put in "oldest toaster wedding present" There are some in museums, Put in "morphy richards science" Collection from Maiden Newton Dorset or will pack for transit if you arrange for your own courier. Lovely solid oak period sideboard. Highly decorative with extensive beading, edging, motifs and brasswork. Solid oak top, frame, edging, drawer fronts and door frames. The oak top is 1 1/8" thick with a gorgeous patina. The drawers are dovetailed, beaded and lined and are appealingly corbelled out above the cupboards which are shelved and lined. All 3 cupboards are lockable with the original key. The legs have very attractive pad feet. There are 5 beautiful solid brass dropper handles with decorative brass backplates. This handsome piece is complete, original, unrestored and unmessed with. Width 60" Height 50" Depth 24".
