19th c. Eastern wooden carved capital base candle holder

An Eastern, quite possibly Indian, wooden carved 19th century column capital converted into a large candlestick holder featuring a beaded border and faded green-painted finish. This eye-grabbing and hefty piece, measuring approximately 16" across, demands attention in the room with the massive 17.5" candle in place (candle included!). It shows some signs of age and wear (see photos) but is entirely sound and thoroughly lovely. £85 or nearest offer. ANTIQUE E. RIMMEL PERFUME BOTTLES IN ORIGINAL CASKET

This Rimmel travel case in purple velvet features two Baccarat crystal perfume bottles - one bottle has the original fragrance label for "Violet de Parme". The set was made for the London based Rimmel Company during the 's. Perfumer Eugene Rimmel came to England from France in and opened the House of Rimmel with his son Eugene in . He imported Baccarat bottles for his fragrances from France. This set is complete, with all of its original components in working order. The small travel sized case is covered in purple velvet. It has a working lock complete with its original key. On the inside of the case the words “E. Rimmel” is embossed in gold. The interior of the case is lined in silk. The Baccarat bottles have a simple squared design with ground and facet cut squared stoppers. Both of the bottles still have their original and gold labels which are inscribed, “E. Rimmel Perfumer London & Paris.” Each bottle is approx 85mm tall x 45mm in diameter. The case is approx 100mm tall x 120mm wide x 75mm deep.
