12 Pekin Cross Hatching Eggs I have a Pekin Rooster who is housed with 10 other hens. The hens include Rhode Island Reds and 2x Black Rocks. They are let onto the farm yard each day, where they mingle with another 2x Lavender Pekin Roosters, 2x Lavender Pekin Hens, a Blue Mottle Pekin hen and a Black Mottled Pekin hen. Neither sets are blood related. The eggs you will receive will be a random mixture, I simply collect them all from the laying box and package them. They will NOT be refrigerated. This means the chicks could be Pure Lavender Pekin, Lavender Pekin x Blue Mottled, Lavender Pekin x Black Mottled, Lavender Pekin x Rhode Island, Lavender Pekin x Black Rock, or they could be Pekin x Rhode Island, Pekin x Black Rock, Pekin x Lavender Pekin, Pekin x Black Mottled Pekin and finally Pekin x Blue Mottled Pekin.... I had 7 of these eggs under my broody Pekin and six hatched (pictured). The 7th would have, but somehow the shell broke about a week before hatching and the chick did not survive. I had another 7 of these in my incubator and all 7 of them hatched. A further 5 out of 7 underneath my most experienced broody also hatched. Upon inspection and candling, 1 of the 2 unhatched had cracked and the chick didn't survive, the remaining egg stopped developing at about 10 to 15 days. I also had 2 eggs underneath my Australorp broody and a further 3 eggs under my Pekin broody, all of which also hatched:) In short, 100% fertility so far with a fabulous mix of colours :) I currently have 7 of the Pekin hen eggs in my incubator currently and, after candling at 4 days, 6 out of the 7 were fertile (which I replaced with another egg labelled +4 so I know it will be 4 days late hatching) There is obviously no guarantee to fertility but, so far, my rooster(s) have achieved an almost 100% fertility rate (only 1 egg so far unfertilised) There's also no guarantee as to what colours or breed of chicks will hatch. You can see in the photo of the hatched chicks, that they are a variety of colours. All of mine have the 'Fluffy Legs' of the Pekin Rooster(s). I have orange ones, yellow ones, black ones (1 of which looks like a penguin with its white chest), some that resemble fluffy partridges, grey ones... all sorts of lovely colours:) My hens are currently laying between 7 and 11 eggs a day (I still have about 5 broodies at the moment), so your eggs will be the freshest ones, collected from when payment is received, or when collection is confirmed. Due to demand, I have started to 'Stockpile' the previous 2x days eggs to enable me to despatch faster. If you would like an immediate despatch of these eggs, or If you prefer to wait a day or two for the freshest ones, please just let me know and I will be happy to work to your preference:) You are most welcome to collect the eggs (This is prefered so as to preserve the integrity of the egg and inner yolk membrane) I will send them via Royal Mail if required, but I cannot guarantee the safety of the eggs, or their condition upon delivery. They will be carefully packaged in bubble wrap and foam though. Whichever method you choose, I would strongly recommend sitting them at room temperature for 24 hours (pointy side down) after you receive them, to allow them to settle.
