Pair Of Victorian Armchairs

A pair of beautiful original Victorian armchairs. This superb pair of Armchairs, circa , have been previously upholstered in a traditional pink damask fabric and would look stunning in most homes. They have been previously re-upholstered using traditional techniques and materials including horsehair, hessian and wadding. They have deep frames with nicely shaped back and arms. Small slit on the upholstery on one armchair beardy noticeable unless your looking for it. They previously would have stood on splayed back legs and have beautifully turned front legs probably with brown porcelain castors, however these have previously been removed but could easily be replaced if required with minimal effort. There are currently four round old metal castors on each of the legs. Approximate Dimensions are: Height 84cm Width 78 cm Depth 110cm Floor to seat 37cm Please review the photos as they also form part of the description, however happy to answer any other questions you may have about these beautiful pieces of Victorian furniture. Matching Pair s Victorian Waterer & Sons Mahogany Library / Armchairs In Need Of Re-Upholstery.

Price now reduced from £150 to £100. No offers please. You will not need to replace the springs or webbing, so really just a re-upholstery job - full details below. A MATCHING PAIR OF LATE VICTORIAN, WATERER AND SONS OF CHERTSEY, GENTLEMAN'S MAHOGANY LIBRARY OR ARMCHAIRS WITH SOUND FRAMES. FURNITURE FROM THIS MAKER RARELY COMES UP FOR SALE. THEY OBVIOUSLY NEED SOME RESTORATION WORK AS THE UPHOLSTERY WILL NEED TO BE COMPLETELY RENEWED BUT I BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL MAKE AN EXCELLENT AND RELATIVELY EASY PROJECT FOR SOMEONE. I AM CERTAIN THAT THE BARE MAHOGANY FRAMES ALONE ARE WORTH MORE THAN THE ASKING PRICE. I have listed the chairs at £150 because I believe that £75 each is very reasonable. I am open to offers, just as long as they are sensible. Please note that I cannot arrange delivery but you are welcome to arrange collection by courier, just as long as you are happy to purchase them without actually viewing them for yourself beforehand. Here we have a matching pair of Victorian solid mahogany framed gentleman's library or armchairs. They were made by the respected firm of Waterer and Sons of Chertsey in around and each frame has the maker's name stamped on the underside. They have been in dry storage for at least 50 years and the upholstery is obviously in a very scruffy condition. However, they would make a very nice project for anyone who is into antique furniture restoration. Actually I would say that anyone who enjoys furniture restoration as a hobby will find these relatively simple to tackle and I have listed all the relevant points as I see them below. The chairs were originally covered in burgundy button-backed leather. This has been removed and discarded from one and partly removed from the second. They could of course be recovered in either leather or cloth. Most of the original horse-hair stuffing and lining material is still present, plus the webbing and all springs look very good. The castors are all there but there is some wear to the bores of the brass plates so the chairs sit lower than they should. The ceramic wheels look good. The mahogany frames look very good to me. Obviously they will need some refinishing work but I can't see any damage or sign of worm. The chairs' approx. measurements in inches are 35 high x 36 deep x 24 wide. The seat is about 24 deep x 19 wide and the seat height is around 15 at the front and 13 at the rear. Please email me if you would like to view the chairs. We are located in Kingswinford (DY6), which is about 2 miles west of Dudley, West Midlands. Thanks for looking. Ad ID: Delivery Service Consumer Credit
