Pair of pure rare breed Lavender Aracana chickens hatched . Aracanas are active, amazingly amiable, avant garde,quirky birds with eye catching distinctive feathering/ tufts. Usually only available from breeders as the tuft gene causes a high mortality rate during hatching. Once hatched, however, they are a hardy breed who are able to withstand very cold winters and hot summers. They carry the unique blue egg laying gene so will lay a blue or turquoise egg and if crossed with a brown egg layer the resulting hens would lay a khaki or greenish egg. Make great pets owing to their friendly personalities. Currently free ranging.The cockerel is not at all dominant and is happy sharing a house with other cockerals and hens, no problem. Read more
