I had previously made the mistake of buying a cheap music stand; I thought it would do the job and it does - just not very well. I eventually bought this one because my music teacher has one. This music stand is good and sturdy, the shelf is deep enough to hold a couple of music books and pencils for notations without everything collapsing. I suggest, assuming you are after a music stand, you go for this one - anything else is false economy. As for my cheap one? Well, it’ll come with me on overnight trips.

During lockdown with a need for video conferencing, this conductor’s music stand was ideal to use as a stand for my laptop and iPad instead of either home made stands that were not really suitable, or expensive, purpose made stands for the same purpose. The stand easily held either my tablet or laptop. The iPad with its magnetic cover was great as the metal body of the stand meant that I could pop the cover of the iPad over the top to the back and the magnetic back of the cover held it safely in place.

Product is robust but light in weight, has a good depth lip so wide enough to support a pad of music. It is stable and strong. Also comes with a warranty. Good value music stand.

I’ve been buying these for my string quartet for many years. New design seems to be slightly less balanced with the new fixing but I think it is probably less likely to break where my old ones have.
