Awesome Product
The AquaBug is a must have. I have purchased two now (had the first for many years (9, 10?) until the poor thing literally wore out). It makes easy work of keeping a pool clean, and it's just fun too (guests are fascinated to see it shuffling along the bottom of the pool, and children love it). Although there seem to be a lot of notations on the Web about not using the device in an Intex pool, we have done so for a long time in a couple of different Intex models, without a hitch (we didn't use Intex's pump filters though... they're ridiculously small for the larger pools). Have a different type of above ground pool now, and the AquaBug just hums along in it, too. At any rate, this product is ingenious in it's engineering (have to admit taking the old one apart to help it run a bit longer), and they are very well made. I wouldn't do with one.Read full review

More money down the drain
I was told about this product by a neighborhood pool company after trying one of their products, which didn't work, and reading bad reviews on their other products. It doesn't tell you how to connect it to your pump and it doesn't move around on its own. I had to be in the water moving it. The suction on the critter kept stopping for some reason. I had to keep picking it up and messing with it until it started pumping again. When we first connected it to the pool, not the actual pump, someone had to hold it onto the opening while the other person was in the water trying to get the critter to work. Then my helper went to buy connections to try to connect it without someone having to hold it for hours. Don't waste your money!

cute little critter
It is very easy to put together and does a great job in the pool. It is not very heavy so it is easy to take in and out of the pool when needed. Its a great product for the money. I hope to enjoy it for a long time. :)

love these little critters
I had a lady bug crawler cleaner years ago and it was so easy to work with and cleaned so well. I was not disappointed when I received this one ! Other than the bug design it works just as well since it is a Hayward cleaner. I would recommend this type of cleaner to anyone that has a large above ground pool with a pump than can meet the specs.

Not perfect, but very helpful!
I bought this bug after a friend gave me an old one, but I didn't know how to use it! So, this little guy does exactly what it says, however, it doesn't get the ENTIRE pool bottom, and I have to go back later and finish, but it does save me a lot of time because it will do most of the bottom. I recommend it, as it is very helpful!

It did not work BRAND NEW out of the box. GOOD LUCK trying to contact the manufacturer. They are above everyone else...... and Customer Service only works 40 hrs. a week. I would expect that in a 3rd world country but not the US. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND "DO NOT PURCHASE HAYWARD PRODUCTS!!!" UNLESS YOU WANT A MAJOR HEADACHE. Cleans our pool great !!
I have a 18 X 33 oval pool and the Aqua Critter does a great job in cleaning the pool. The only downside is that they don't hold up that well. It seems they stop working after a year and a half. I have taken them apart and cleaned everything, but for some reason it don't work like they did when new.

A friend recommended me to one of these after they said there Aqua Critter lasted years and years and did an excellent job. I went online to check it out and immediately loved what I was reading on it! It is made of great quality and comes with everything you'll need. For $118 shipped, you can't beat it! Love how the manual has a broken down parts list and available parts. Ordered Thursday it was here Saturday! Couldn't of been better, best pool purchase ever! You won't be disappointed! :) :)

Amount of hose required.

This Critter is a good little critter!
This is the 3rd year that I have been using this little critter. I am not sure how it decides on which way to go, but it does a fairly good job. Just make sure you check it periodically. Backwash your filter when needed, and let the critter do the work. I have a 24' oval above ground metal pool with a liner. Sometimes, I have to give it a little help when it gets lost... lol. Overall, I am happy with it. I have never had an issue with algae or anything. The water is always crystal clear... even when I open it after winter.
