Double chest in oak, Louis XIV style - France - late 18th /
Click here to view this lot Oak double chest (Louis XIV style) with molded panels.The upper part opens in two doors surmounted by a molding called "gendarme’s hat".The lower part opens also in 2 moulded doors.The open upper part shows carved shelves and a top moulding enhanced with a succession of acorns.The furniture is based on 2 molded feet at the front and 2 straight feet at the back.The furniture has still its metalwork and hinges of that period, in good working condition.The exterior brass hinges seem to be a sign of manufacturing in Northern Europe (Belgium?).: Height 2, 67 m.
