Small Edwardian/Early 20th Century Bureau

This is not just another boring brown piece of furniture as some have said. This is a small Edwardian/early 20th Century bureau. It is made of solidmahogany and solid oak. There are no veneer panels so you won't get any lifting or splitting. It is completely sound and has never had any worm. It has 3 drawers which all have original filigree handles which are brass. Inside there are 5 stationery compartments with 2 small drawers which each have a small bun shaped handle also in brass. There is a leather inlay inside the lid for handwritten correspondence. The hinge arms and other hinges are also brass. The top slope rests on two very sturdy arms which come out when the top is lowered. The drawers have hand cut dove tails and each of them have dust excluders inside. There are brass locks on the top of each drawer but sadly no key. The legs are either Queen Anne or cabriole. This bureau is small enough to go into a home office and can comfortably accommodate a lap top. It has had a few knocks over the years but nothing that can't be restored with some TLC. It was given to my Grandparents as a wedding gift when they married in . It has been in my family for 4 generations. I have no space for it in my house and no one else in the family wants it. This is an Edwardian bureau in Mahogany in great condition. It is on four ball and claw feet with two large opening drawers and a fold down flap with writing surface. The top section contains a small pull out drawer and six compartments for stationery or letters. The lock has a functional key for security and it is a beautiful piece of furniture for any room or office. We have redesigned the room and now it is surplus to requirements.
