Sway Open Grdens Event
Sway Gardening Club will be holding its biennial Open Gardens Day again and over 20 gardens will be open including many gardens that have not opened before or for many years. The gardens are all different, ranging from informal and manicured formal settings to small but beautifully formed cottage gardens. * Free parking is available, and many of the gardens are within walking distance of the village centre. Gardens on the outskirts of the village may have their own parking but there is a free regular jump on/jump off bus service. You can even "get on your bike" to tour the gardens, as both pedal bikes and motorised bikes from can be hired in the village for very reasonable rates. * The official opening is at am at Sway Church Rooms. * In addition to the gardens, our very own well-known local gardener, Bob Marsh will be available during the day to answer all your gardening questions, be it for flowers, shrubs, vegetables or anything else garden related. There will be two sessions during the day – the first in the morning in the Church Rooms Gardens between 11am and 2.30pm, and between 3 and 5pm at the Sway Allotments in Pitmore Lane, Sway. * Musical entertainment at sessions during the day will be provided by Mike Slipper’s Jazz Band. * Vintage and Classic Car displays at two gardens. * The majority of proceeds from the event will go to The Oakhaven Hospice Trust (reg.
