A superb British made antique steamer trunk. Outstanding quality black painted metal with solid wood braces all round. A stunning original coppered interior. This is in completely original condition so has some dents and marks that all add to its character, full of life and history. Writing reads: H.F Tunbridge, c/o Miss D.Mason,501 New South Head RD,Double bay, Sydney,Australia. This could be used for storage (all catches and handles work),perhaps a blanket box at the foot of a bed. At the moment I have it stood on end and am using it as a lamp stand, endless possibilities. Hi I have for sale a lovely old Large vintage steamer trunk/chest The steamer trunk has been painted in a soft grey colour and has a lift out tray inside. The trunk does require new leather handles or you could use rope. There is slight bubbling on top and at the back please see pictures, but this does not effect the use of the trunk which is very solid and heavy piece of furniture. A huge antique metal steamer/shipping trunk. It measures " in length, 20" high and 19" width. Brass lock (no key) and clasps and remains of the original leather handles. Fully lined inside with wood which has been covered with paper (this looks original as it shows tanning and is flaking in places). Comes complete with its original removeable wooden shelf.
