There is a long drawer but this cannot currently be inserted into the unit. Black cast iron sections in reasonable condition - some paint wear and nicks. Machine - needle itself does go up and down when the wheel is turned manually, the foot treadle also performs the required action however when the belt is attached wheel does not move. Surface of the machine is aged, decals are faded worn. VESTA (singer) sewing machine

Antique VESTA shuttle sewing machine dated with serial number . This machine has a double thread action allowing for both winding onto a spool and sewing at the same time. This Vesta machine known as the no5 takes the same needle as the singer 12 and uses a boat shuttle. Vesta were originally manufactured in as singer copies. These machines became an instant success in England and offices were open in London on south street. Our machine is in full working order with a smooth needle action when the hand crank is turned. We also have the original coffin box top which has a stunning curved handle and the ORIGINAL Vesta lock and key. The wooden top in which the sewing machine sits features an inlay of various types of wood which makes a measuring device in inches. It’s extremely difficult to find these machines in this condition however there is a small pin cushion missing from the cover to the right hand side of the machine but can be picked up easily from an online auction site. We have additional feet attachments which can be seen in the photographs. Enquiries welcome
