Tin Trunk, Toy Box, Log Box, Coffee Table

This is an old tin trunk which has been used as a tool box so is a bit battered, and some paint has peeled off, especially on the bottom, but the metal is sound so it is still a lovely item for use as storage or as a coffee table. The overall size not counting the handles is 24" long x 14" wide x 10.5" high. It has handles at each end and one by the lock so it can also be carried like a suitcase. The catch closes tight and could be locked with a padlock (not included). Still available - I will delete when sold. This wooden domed top dowry chest is covered with tin in a bronze colour and was bought from a flea market 25 years ago in Spain, the wooden slats have been replaced and lined the trunk with fabric, however the age of the chest is at least early 's. This is a peasant piece, has no refinements and is very rustic. But I can assure you it is genuine. 30"w x 22"H x 16"D I also have a pine trunk with inner candle tray.

Storage Chest Blanket Toy Box Very large and striking looking rare steel trunk with unusual corrugated construction. I have never seen this design before. This is a very rare all steel trunk from the mid Victorian period and is in fantastic condition considering it’s age. Has a few knocks and scrapes but this all ads to the great patina. I cant find the makers name but on the front the trunk has a Patent number on a brass plaque. I have been told that the trunk could have originated in America and on searching on the internet found a similar trunk for sale but a bit smaller and at a cost of $. This trunk has been scrubbed clean and given a wax polish to the protect patina gained over the years. The inside is as original and has not been touched because it has newspaper from stuck to the bottom and I thought this was interesting, this can be easily removed. Now ready to store your vast array of objet d'art. A beautiful and functional piece of furniture with great character.
