very old pine wardrobe
This charming wardrobe was bought already stripped 20+ years ago, it has a heavy old mirror at its center which is flanked by two panels which are carved with a flower design. It was made to be moved in three pieces, the top decorative section lifts off easily and the main section lifts off the base which has a useful drawer. The sides of the base would benefit from a rub down and a wax as the wood is quite rough following the stripping process, we never got round to it... We have moved house several times and found it necessary to have the top and bottom of the main section cut in half, the back is slatted and so separates anyway. This has enable easy and safe movement of the wardrobe around corners and up and down stairs - whilst in no way spoiling the look of the piece or affecting its use. Undoing a few screws is all that is needed to separate for easy transport. The mirror is gorgeous, the silver is mottled with age around the corners and it is so flattering:) The wardrobe is quite shallow (42cm) so adult clothes sit at an angle. This is a quirky piece which would fit in to an older home, it's so out of place in our new modern house. Any questions please message. Thanks Read More
