This tapered tea box with convex lid is made from pinewood and lined with walnut veneer. As accents blackened quarter round edges and the lid and key entrance inlaid with a diamond shape of bone. The inside has a single lid with turned knob of bone and a large part of the original lead-/tin foil is still present. The spoon box still has its original brass hinges and a lock with working key. The bottom of the tea box has shrunk, creating an old shrink seam around in the veneer. A late 19th century Birdseye maple jewellery box in lovely condition. A working lock and key is fitted with matching baize to the tray and base. Inside covering of the box matches the lift out tray. There is a split to the veneer and a small amount of edging missing as indicated in the photos. Size = 10" x 7.5" x 4". Would make a lovely Graduation or Birthday present.

Very old strong box with rivetted metal strap work, some sign of age to the frieze around the base of the trunk but still in good order, it has the date of which has been applied sometime in its history probably more than 40 years ago before we bought it, but the date is about right. The trunk has something heavy inside it but we have never had it opened but will have to take it to a locksmith to pick the lock but we won't be selling it until we know what has been inside for the time we have owned it.
