Extremely large Omega, that has been rebuilt from pocket watch to wristwatch. Complete with old ? box. (back in the day, many watch factories did this, at the request of a client or jeweller) Like this Omega...a new layout (refinish) of the dial in a "military look" was opted for in this case. It is known that during the last World war many high ranked officers were eager to wear a Omega like this on their wrist...they were also popular among pilots, because of their large size...which could easily be worn over clothing. The diameter is 49 mm... without the onion-shaped crown.The case is made of polished solid steel and is still in fine condition, the flip-top lid is marked "Omega" and the inside is numbered. The timepiece is calibre 38.5 LT 1 and has a deviation of only approx. 20 seconds per 24 hours on the digital testing machine!This timepiece is numbered 71... year of manufacture is approx. . It has recently been serviced and can be used for years to come. This robust men's watch can.......be worn daily. The never worn black strap in crocodile-look is suitable for wrists up to 22.5 cm. (including the lugs).With slight signs of wear, but nothing remarkable.Dial is silver coloured with rose gold markers/numbers and laid-on steel logo and steel hands. In almost perfect condition (little dot above the 6) and possibly an earlier professional refinish.The solid Omega wind-up movement has cal.283 and is numbered 17... which dates this watch back to . This appears to be a problem-free calibre from Omega.... and was the successor of the famous 30T2 movement. It has been checked / adjusted/ oiled and it is clean. The movement runs perfectly (deviation of approx. 5 sec. per 24 hours).... Rare for a movement of 55 years old!!
