This Dale, Forty piano is both beautiful and built to last. It is an upright piano with lovely exterior, in great condition and plays nice music. It is made by the famous Dale Forty Company of London, which was founded in in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, partners Henry Dale and Frank Forty, formerly piano tuners with the Broadwood company purchased the established music house of Finlayson. The newly named Dale, Forty & Co. also acquired Hale & Co. music publishers by appointment to the Queen. Their magnificent music warehouse dominated the town’s famous Regency Promenade. Situated opposite Neptune’s Fountain, Dale, Forty sold absolutely everything to do with music, instruments, gramophones and later, radio. The Dale, Forty piano workshops imported all major marques of piano, repaired and reconditioned customers’ instruments and by the late s manufactured a range of uprights and small grands, this piano is one of them and still in service today. When you acquire this piano you are acquiring a piece of antiquity and history. Its approximate measurements are as follows: -Full height at the back 130 cm -Right to left Width 146 cm -Back to front widths: Top 35 cm, keyboard level 58 cm and bottom 45 cm -Height of keyboard 67 cm. Though got wheels to move it around it is very heavy and requires few strong men to lift it. Buyer must collect or arrange pick up.
