Condition: The binding show some light age related wear and discolouration. Covers and pages are slightly yellowed and have almost no foxing. Since Allan was a teacher at the Teacher Training College in Haarlem and received cooperation from the Haarlem historians C. Ekema, A.J. Enschede, H. Gerlings Cz and C.J. Gonnet. A large part of the work consists of a walk through the city and surrounding areas, in which the buildings that you pass are described. Furthermore, the book is important as it contains a large number of lithograph illustrations, often in colour,made by lithographers Emrik and Binger. Volume 1 contains the first chapter.
